Week of 8/23

Last week was a very busy week. I am still in the process of completing individual assessments resulting in our class completing more worksheets than usual. This week our sight words are: the, of, to, I & in. We will also be working on phonograms 1-10. I'm very excited to announce that we will begin using a new Spalding video in class this week. The video is more engaging and includes hand gestures with the phonograms as well as fun rhymes, I will be posting a link to the video on our blog shortly. In math we are still reviewing numbers 1-100 as well as the months of the year, days of the week, patterns, and money. This year social studies and science are on an alternating schedule for the first grade, currently we are studying our national and state symbols.
